Ayano lost both her parents and now lives with her uncle in the countryside, keeping her friendship with Arrow, a small white snake she met when she was younger, a secret. He grew quickly, transforming into a splendid, large white snake. On the summer she turned 14, she was chosen to dance at the village festival. However, on the day of the festival, a large snake that escaped from the circus appears, causing great confusion in the villagers. Amidst the chaos, Ayano is attacked by a strange man. Then, like a large gust of wind, a witch wielding a broom appears and saves Ayano by a hair's breadth. The witch reveals that she had been staying in the village to study folk customs. The witch introduces herself as Oohara and she invites Ayano to attend her alma mater. Includes a prologue chapter.
