Susumu Yamada is Japanese, but had never lived in Japan due to his father's international line of work but has now seemingly settled down in Los Angeles, USA. But when Sukumu flunks out of school his parents convince him to go to Japan and stay in his uncle's apartment at the western style residence "Rosemary Hotel".
