줄거리 日本語

太陽暦佰九拾八年、東京皇国。この世界は、とある大災害を境に始まった人体発火現象「焔（ほむら）ビト」による脅威に苛まれていた。突然、自身の体から発火した者は瞬く間に全身が炎に包まれ、自我を失い命が尽きるまで周囲を焼きつくすのである。この脅威に対応して、一般市民を炎の恐怖から守り、人体発火現象の原因と解決策を究明するために「特殊消防隊」が組織された。幼い頃からヒーローに憧れを抱く少年・シンラは、12年前に突然の火事によって母親と生まれたばかりの弟を亡くしてしまう。足から炎を出すことができる「第三世代」の能力者であったシンラは、自らの体から発した炎が火事を引き起こした出火原因だとされ周囲から迫害を受ける。しかし、シンラは母親と弟と自分以外の第三者が室内にいたことを目撃しており、その人物が犯人ではないかと考えていた。訓練校を卒業し「第8特殊消防隊」に配属されたシンラは、母親と弟のような被害者を増やさないため、また母親と弟を殺した犯人を捕まえ自らに被せられた濡れ衣を晴らすために、仲間たちと共に訓練と消防活動に励みながら、焔ビトの秘密を握る組織「伝導者一派」、そして時に他の消防隊との戦いを繰り広げていく。
