While helping at his grandfather's embroidery shop, Tsumugu meets Gina, a girl wearing a biker gang outfit, who asks him to embroider some kanji characters on her jacket for good money. Although Tsumugu is skilled at embroidery, he would rather make fancy scenes rather than embroider boring kanji characters. ウールの世界三大産地・尾州（びしゅう）の中心地で、「繊維の街」と呼ばれる愛知県一宮市で父が営む刺繍屋を手伝う紡の元に、漢字とヤクザ映画が大好きな特攻服を着た留学生の少女ジーナが訪れ、紡に特攻服への文字の刺繍を依頼する。漢字を愛するジーナとの交流を経て、紡は文字に込められた本当の意味や奥深さに気付く。
