ベトナム戦争での、アメリカ軍の特殊部隊偵察チームに所属するパッキー、ラッツ、ボタスキー、チコの戦いを描く。彼らのコードネームは「キャット・シット・ワン」（猫の糞1号）。続編の『Cat Shit One'80』ではカンボジア内戦の大量虐殺証拠確認のためにチームを再結成して戦いの舞台を1980年代の東西冷戦下へと移し、『Cat Shit One JP』ではパッキーの息子ジョナサンの視点で湾岸戦争を描く。
