とある異世界。『災厄潰し』と呼ばれる英雄シャグルアと、希代の死霊使い（ネクロマンサー）『屍神殿』が激突。世界の命運をかけた戦いの果て、戦場は光に包まれた。 そして現代の新宿で1人の少年が目覚めた。彼の名は四乃山ポルカ。首に深い傷を負って死んだ筈だったが、その体には別人の記憶が宿っていた。どうやら異世界での戦いの末に転生したらしい。全く違う世界の様子に戸惑うポルカだったが、彼は殺し屋に狙われていた。人殺しを楽しむ殺人鬼・崎宮ミサキの執拗な追撃に追い詰められるポルカ。だが、死の気配に満ち溢れたビルの中で彼は己の力を取り戻した。圧倒的かつ異質な力でミサキを殺したポルカは、彼が理想としていた「子供が大事にされる平穏な世界」で生きようと誓うのであった。 一方、転生先の異世界では無事だったシャグルアに、屍神殿の魂がこの世界から完全に消滅したとの報告が届いていた。それでもシャグルアの胸には一抹の不安が過る。屍神殿の魂は別の世界に飛ばされたのではないかと。また屍神殿の残した日記を目にしたシャグルアは、ゲルドウッド教団の裏の顔を知り疑念を抱く。独自に書庫などを調べて教団の腐敗を確信した彼は、教団に見切りをつけ出奔する。
