Severely allergic to felines, Yuuto Amakawa spends his mornings nursing a drippy nose courtesy of his friend Rinko’s cat. Appearing before him is Himari, a buxom, sword-wielding cat spirit in human guise, who has sworn to protect Yuuto, now the target of vengeful spirits! 主人公・天河優人は、ごく普通の高校生として暮らしていた。7年前に両親を亡くし、天涯孤独となってしまったこともあり、幼なじみの凜子の家族に世話になっているが、それ以外はどこにでもいるような少年であった。 そんな優人が16歳の誕生日を迎えた朝、謎の美少女「緋鞠」が突然現れた。そして、優人の祖父との約束でこれから優人を「護る」ため、ずっと優人のそばに付き従うと言う。しかし、その正体はなんと猫の妖だった。猫アレルギーにもかかわらず緋鞠に護られることになった優人だったが、「鬼斬り役」である彼を巡って次々と美少女たちが巻き起こすトラブルや妖が舞い込んでくる。さらに、日本三大妖怪の玉藻前・酒呑童子が暗躍をしていた。果たして優人はその身に秘められた「光渡し」の力を解き放ち、仲間たちを護れるのか。そして、緋鞠たちとの恋の行方は……。
