Sinopsis 日本語

昭和58年（1983年）6月に発生した火山性ガスの噴出により、一夜にして住民の大半が死亡・行方不明となった雛見沢村。その後もガスの噴出が不定期で観測されたため、村の一帯は厳重に閉鎖されていたが時代は平成へ移り、20年余りを経てようやく閉鎖が解除された。大災害から23年が経過した平成18年（2006年）6月21日。乙部彰は雑誌の記事を見て決意し、車で雛見沢の近郊を訪れる。雨の中、一人で車を離れた乙部は暗闇の中で車を見失ってしまい、ぬかるんだ地面に足を取られて崖から転落してしまう。そして、誰もいるはずのない村の方角から歩いて来た和服を着た謎の女性と遭遇する。その女性は自らを村の生き残り・園崎魅音と名乗り、乙部のことを昔の知人に似ていると言い意気投合。共に村へ行くこととなる。乙部と魅音は誰もいないはずなのに灯りのついている古手神社の集会所で、やはり何かに惹かれるように雛見沢村を訪れた工・八重の2人、そしてフリーライターの荒川と遭遇。夜闇の中で集った4人の男女は、やがて数奇な運命に巻き込まれていく。
