森にそびえる高い塔に住む少女・ラプンツェルが、ある日心優しい少年・ミケルと出会う。ラプンツェルは彼との交流を通して外の世界への憧れを強めていって塔を抜け出すが、憧れの外の世界はいばらでできた怪物・呪人(じゅじん)が蔓延っていた。こうしてふたりは呪人の脅威から逃れるため騎士の国・フラーマから一路はるばる医療とガラスの国・パナツィヤまで命がけの逃避行をたどっていき、そこでふたりは偶然出会った少女・ルフィーナに匿われることになる。一方、パナツィヤではシンデレラを名乗る少女・ベラヤの指示のもと、足首刈りが庶民の足首を刈る密行を行っていてパニックになっていた。ある日、ラプンツェルは足首刈りに攫われてしまい、それを追ったミケルらは足首刈りのトップであるベラヤとその伴侶・イリヤに出会う。色々あってミケル一行とベラヤ一行は王摘の決闘(セレクティオ・レガリス)を行うことになる。
