Overview

Kaya Takada was born into a farming commune where children lived separated from their parents and were expected to participate in the farming labor. At 19 she and her parents willingly decided to leave the commune to live in the outside world. In her debut work she tells the story of her childhood at the commune (simply referred to as "The Village"). She talks about strict caretakers, clashes with the outside world, happy memories, and harsh life lessons
